iTunes Live Festival 08 at KOKO

The iTunes Live Festival 08 introduced itself as: 31 days. 60 bands. One venue. iTunes took over London’s KOKO (formerly known as the Camden palace) for a month-long extravaganza of live music for the whole of July.

I had the privilege of attending two iTunes Live events during the festival, one of which I won tickets for via iTunes Live and the other thanks to Monika B for winning tickets and inviting me along.

Riding an 18 tonne tank

Awesome experience at the Abingdon Air Show on Sunday riding an 18 tonne tank with a top speed of 33mph.

The tank was a 1966 Vickers Armstrong with Self Propelled Gun and a Rolls Royce K60 multi-fuel 295HP engine. It does 1 mile per gallon off-road, 3 miles per gallon on-road!

Also on display was a carrier-only tank (1970 Vickers Armstrong AFV 432 Armoured Personnel Carrier) but who’d want to ride a personnel carrier tank when you can ride one with a self propelled gun!

If you are planning an event and are looking for something thrilling, it would seem you can also hire those tanks for your own private event!

At the Abingdon Air Show

I attended the Abingdon Air Show on Sunday. It’s the first Air Show I have ever attended. Click below for some video clips.

Despite being caught in a drizzle in the afternoon, it was a really good day.
